22 February 2015 - Tokyo Marathon, Japan (Marathon & 10km) Big, Exciting and Vibrant
Penthouse Travel Sporting Tours are pleased to be an official agent for the Tokyo Marathon 2015 and are therefore able to offer you a 4 night’s travel package including guaranteed race entry and flights. Bookings are limited and will close when the maximum number of entrants has been reached. Tokyo is an exciting and fascinating city with great nightlife. The Tokyo Marathon is generally a flat course and extremely popular with runners from all corners of the globe and especially since they became a member of the World Marathon Majors. It is the largest marathon in Asia and one of the largest in the world with +/- 36,000 participants. The course is like a sightseeing tour of Tokyo passing by tourist sites such as the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Tower, Asakusa and Ginza. With big crowd support, taiko drums, kimono dancers, and brass bands it has a festival atmosphere. The Marathon starts at 9.10am and the time limit is 7 hours with checkpoints and cut off times en-route. The day before the marathon a 5km International Friendship Run is expected to take place, details have not been communicated at this time. 22 February 2015 - Seychelles Eco-friendly Marathon (Marathon, 21km, 10km & 5km) Paradise

Seychelles is famous for clear turquoise waters and powder soft sandy beaches. The climate is one which is always warm and rarely drops below 24°C or rises above 32°C.  It is home to many rare species on earth and endemic flora and fauna. 15 March 2015 - Barcelona Marathon, Spain (Marathon) Cosmopolitan City
Barcelona is one of Europes most cosmopolitan cities and one of the Mediterraneans busiest ports. The route is a flat circular course through Barcelona. Running through the city, starting at Av. Reina Cristina first in a Western direction, passing many attractions and finishes again where the race started.Tens of thousands of spectators line the route and cheer the participants. The Marathon starts at 8.30am. Time limit is 6 hours. The day before the Marathon a 4.2km Fun Run takes place and is free but limited to the first 2,000 entrants (register at the Expo in Barcelona).Contact us if you would like to book for 2016

22 March 2015 - Rome Marathon, Italy (Marathon & 4km) Bellissimo Roma
Starting and finishing close to the Colosseum this race takes you through the streets of historical Rome, which includes St. Peter's Square, Vatican City, Olympic Stadium, Piazzale Popolo and Trevi Fountain. A simple medical form must be completed by your Doctor. All Penthouse Travel Marathon entrants receive free medal engraving. There is a supporting 4km (Stracittadina) which starts immediately after the marathon start. It's one of the biggest Fun walks in Europe, expecting in excess of 80,000 entries. Each Penthouse Travel Marathon entrants receive a free entry to this 4km event so non runners can also be involved on this fabulous day. The Marathon starts at 9.00am. 12 April 2015 - Rotterdam Marathon, The Netherlands (Marathon & 10km) Fast and Flat
The Rotterdam Marathon has been the biggest one day sporting event in the Netherlands for 13 years in a row. It attracts the worlds elite runners. The course is a fast, friendly course. Starting on the bustling Coolsingel, no other marathon in the Netherlands can match the atmosphere in Rotterdam; thousands of spectators along the course make the party complete. 30 May 2015 - Stockholm Marathon, Sweden (Marathon) Scandinavian Beauty
Stockholm is one of the most beautiful capitals and well known for its cafes, parks and long summer nights. Built on 14 islands Stockholm, capital of Sweden is a city of contrasts – water and islands, history and innovation, small town/big city and up to 18 hours of day light during summer. The marathon course is two laps through the central parts of Stockholm. The surroundings vary from the woods of the Royal Park "Djurgården" to the streets of a big city. The course passes buildings such as the Royal Palace, the City Hall, the Royal Opera and the Houses of Parliament. Much of the race is run along beautiful waterways. When passing the "Västerbron" bridge, the runners will enjoy a fantastic view over a city with buildings ranging in age from the medieval times to the present day. The difference in altitude between the highest and the lowest point of the course is 29 meters. Starting just outside the Olympic Stadium the race finishes inside the famous Olympic Stadium. The first lap is 16.6 kilometres, the second lap 25.6 kilometres. Since this is a two lap course the top runners will lap the slower runners by the end of their second lap. The race is well supported by the locals who enthusiastically cheer everyone on. The race starts at 12h00 on ”Lidingövägen”, the road just outside the Olympic Stadium. Runners are divided into two groups that start at 10 minute intervals. Average weather is 18 deg C. Time limit to finish and get a medal and finishers t-shirt is 6 hours. 25 July 2015 - Australian Outback Marathon  (Marathon,21km,11km & 6km) Awe Inspiring
The Australian Outback Marathon takes place in the very heart of Australia and consists of events for every running ability including the full marathon, half marathon, 11km and 6km. The mainly off-road route is tough and will give runners of all levels an experience that they will never forget. 20 September 2015 - Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, Cape Town (Marathon, 10km, 5km & Trail Runs) African Spectacular

Spectacular 42.2km route and a dynamic organisation....Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is endorsed by Elana Meyer and Francois Pienaar, two of South Africa’s most celebrated sporting greats. The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon takes place on 20th September 2015, starts and finishes outside the Cape Town Stadium. The race is a beautiful sightseeing tour of the natural beauty of Cape Town’s mountains and sea, as well as many of the city’s attractions and cultural areas. 18 October 2015 - Amsterdam Marathon, The Netherlands (Marathon, 21k & 8k) Fast & Flat
There are various events scheduled this day: the 42km Marathon (starts at 9:30), the 21km Half Marathon (starts at 13:30), the 8 km run (starts at 10:10), and also some childrens events. The marathon route is mainly flat and is known for its fast and beautiful course. The start and finish take place in the +/-80 year-old Olympic Stadium. And every year this leaves an unforgettable impression, not least because of the presence of the supporters in the stadium. The route is packed with things worth seeing in Amsterdam. As such, you pass the world famous Rijks Museum on the Museumplein, and through the Vondel Park. (48-hectare park, full of flowers, ponds, footpaths and playgrounds, a favourite among Amsterdammers) and follows a part of the Olympic route along the Amstel River, past stately homes and a few windmills. 42km Marathon runners will have 6 hours to complete the race, 21km Half Marathon runners will have 3 hours. 24/25 October 2015 - Polar Circle Marathon, Greenland (Marathon & 21k) Icy Adventure
Combine your visit to remote Greenland with a unique arctic race. Run on the vast ice sheet and experience breathtaking polar landscapes in this challenging running event.The Polar Circle Marathon - often referred to as "the coolest marathon on earth" takes place in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland. The endless ice and arctic tundra of this vast country make up the backdrop of this unusual race., in which runners pass glacier tongues, moraine landscapes and the soundless, arctic desert. 25 October 2015 - Venice Marathon, Italy (Marathon)  Italian Beauty
The Venice Marathon starts in Stra, a village in the countryside +/- 25kms from Venice. The course is mainly flat and fast through the rural areas and what better way to see St Mark's Square, the Grand Canal and many beautiful 18th century mansions than to run past them ! The crowds along the route are enthusiastic and vocal and everyone seemed to enjoy the spectacle, runners and spectators alike. The Marathon starts at 9.20am. Time limit is 6 hours. 08 November 2015 - Athens Marathon (The Authentic), Greece (Marathon, 10k & 5k) A must
The Athens Marathon is legendary. Formerly known as the Athens Classic Marathon they have changed name in recent years to reflect the marathons legendary status. Athens is the birthplace of the Marathon race 2504 years ago. A legendary course it is a must for every marathon runner. The route is hilly and challenging - starts near the sea at marathon village and ends in the spectacular Panathinaikos Stadium in Athens. Panathinaikos Stadium was built entirely in white marble for the first modern Olympics in 1896. The marble stadium is located on the same spot where remains of an ancient stadium used for the original Olympic Games in ancient Greece were excavated. The marathon start is staggered from 9am until 9.23am. You have 8 hours to finish the race .The average temperatures for Athens early November are around 14 - 16°C (57 - 60°F).       Taking place on the same day there is also a 10km and 5km. Prices. 15 November 2015 - Istanbul Marathon, Turkey (Marathon, 15k & 10k) 2 continents race
Mostly flat, it is the only course in the world where the marathon includes two continents, Asia and Europe, in one race. The Marathon race starts just behind the Bosphorus Bridge on the Asian side of Turkey, crosses the bridge affording beautiful views to the European side. Then you run along a coastal road, through Gulhane Park and to the city to finish near the Blue Mosque. Hippodrome which was the meeting and sporting centre of Romans, Byzantium and Ottoman Empire, is the finish point (close to the Blue Mosque). The marathon is a Gold Label IAAF event. Taking place on the same day there is also 15km,10km and Fun Walk races. The marathon starts at 9am and you have 5 and half hours to finish and receive a medal.
