The Beaujolais Marathon is France’s biggest running festival. A truly unique atmosphere with more than 50% of the runners in costumes creating a funky, fun race. It is one of the Top 10 French Marathons and hosts up to 27 500 runners from 76 different countries. The race caters for all distance runners as it offers a choice of 5 races either a 7,5km fun run, a 13km, 21km half marathon, 42km marathon and a 42km marathon relay.
The famous Beaujolais wine region launches its first wines of the season at this time. Come and experience this exceptional edition and savour the unique atmosphere between vineyards and châteaux. It’s an event that’s both sporting and festive, with incredible refreshment stands, entertainment and wine tastings all along the hilly route through the heart of the Beaujolais countryside.
More than 12 villages are crossed, with 15 tastings, including 9 full refreshment points as well as live bands, entertainment and an enthusiastic crowd along the way. It is classified as a charity and eco friendly event. With more than 12 hundred volunteers, it guarantees perfect organisation.
